ABOUT US

Wavewood Designs has been developed through the hard work of Bono and her partner Kim. Both have the same outlook and creativity and can come up with some pretty interesting art whether it be on canvas or the beautiful cuts from the driftwood found along our Nova Scotian coastlines.

BONO MISNER

BONO

Born in the beautiful Annapolis Valley, Bono soon discovered all the natural beauty that surrounds us each day. After 35 years working as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, she finally went back to her true passion of art.

A self taught artist who has become passionate with bold vibrant colors has set out to capture our natural beauty which abounds us. Fear for Bono is not an option as she approaches each painting project. Whether it is in her oils, acrylics or charcoals, her bold approach is easily observed.

According to Bono art is not only a stress releaser, it helps us better understand our world around us. "A world without art is like a world without air, both which we cannot do without". Art should be about our personal  journey through life and all it has to offer...just reach for it  and remember "NO FEAR".

Any type of art should be fun and when its NOT "walk away". There will always be another inspiring day and it will approach when you least expect it..........

KIM BANKS

KIM

Kim Banks grew up on a fourth generation family farm in rural Nova Scotia which he managed for many years. During these years, he established a renowned farmer’s market which was featured in several tourist publications as a must-see destination for its beauty.

As well as his passion for gardening, art has always played a large role in his life. Since leaving farming several years ago, he felt the artistic creativity had been missing.

In the last few years, Kim has re-connected with this inspiration and is now working with reclaimed driftwood and root wood, collected along the rugged coastline of Nova Scotia. With these materials, he produces a variety of designs, including, lamps, mirrors, tables, furniture and other fine-art decor. The driftwood creations are a perfect combination of art and function and the process has been very rewarding. His unique pieces have been exhibited in several galleries in Nova Scotia.
